Opening Day

Go Jays

The Jays had their opening day in Toronto this year against the same opponents as last year the Cleveland Indians.  Last year they won in 16 innings.  This year they lost 4-1 in the regular nine.  R.A. Dickey started for the Jays and pitched six innings giving up four runs, three of which were earned, with four strikeouts.

Aaron Loup then came on to pitch and pitched 1.1 good innings giving up one hit and one walk.  Then Sergio Santos came on and showed us what he could do giving up a hit while striking out two. Brett Cecil pitched the ninth inning getting one strikeout. Jose Reyes lead off for the Jays and walked in the first inning and then went 0-3. Melky Cabrera went 1-4 with a run scored. Jose Bautista went 1-3 with a walk and two strikeouts. Edwin Encarnacion went 0-2 with a walk.  Adam Lind went 0-4 with a strikeouts…
