Drink Like A Rock Star On St Patty’s Day: Iron Maiden Is Brewing Beer

The Latest:  Iron Maiden is releasing their own beer this spring called Trooper Ale, named after the song “The Trooper” from the group’s 1983 album “Piece of Mind.” The 4.8 percent-strength alcohol will hit pubs in May and be featured at the Download Festival, where the rockers will headline on June 15.

Frontman Bruce Dickinson says he’s a lifelong fan of traditional English ale and thought he’d died and gone to Heaven when asked to create their own beer.

The beer, described as having citrus notes and a blend of Cascade, Bobec, and Goldings hops, doesn’t sport an amped-up alcohol percentage. Its website currently lists it at 4.7 percent alcohol by volume.
